i love the entire subgenre of immersive sims, but system shock 2 felt really clunky and at times bordering on unfair. the entire weapon degradation scheme in ss2 is awful; prey was probably right to get rid of it, but in mooncrash it feels a lot fairer. not to mention how confusing the map design felt. your objects are much clearer in prey.

Sushi Dragon Dec 2 @ 1:40am. I really don't see the similarities to Prey and this, Prey is extremely linear, much moreso than System Shock. It's like saying Call of Duty campaign is similar to System Shock. Bioshock is much more similar to System Shock as well than Prey, despite Bioshock being more linear as well.

System Shock 1 is very different compared to modern games. It based on the Ultima underworld engine, has no mouse look (now it can be modded) and the graphics look strange by today's standard. It still has a couple of nice tricks (cyberspace, hacking puzzles). It has the best sorry IMHO, except for prey.
